Safeguarding
Everyone who comes to Fount should be safe here
We take that seriously, and we're putting the right things in place from the very start.
Raising a concern
If you are worried about the safety or wellbeing of a child or an adult at risk, please tell us. Email hello@fount.church and it will reach us directly.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. You can also contact the Isle of Wight Council safeguarding teams, or the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000.
Where we are
Fount is a new church, and its safeguarding arrangements are being put in place before it starts meeting publicly. We're doing this properly and in the right order rather than catching up later.
What we're putting in place
- A written safeguarding policy, in place before our first Sunday.
- Membership of a specialist safeguarding organisation, so we have trained people outside the church to call on.
- A named safeguarding lead, with contact details published here.
- DBS checks and safeguarding training for everyone working with children or adults at risk, completed before they start.
- Trustees who hold the church to account on all of it. Fount is in the process of registering as a charity, and its trustees take on this responsibility once it's registered.
